Hey everyone, WELCOME to the Bio Hacking Academy. I’m your host and educator, Joshua Porch, and today we’re going to be discussing CBG. The CBG I’m going to be referring to here today comes from legally grown industrial hemp, and is fully compliant with federal regulations here in the USA. This video is intended for viewers 18 years or older and does not endorse or condone any illegal or dangerous activity.

So, with that out of the way, I’m first going to explain briefly what CBG is (for those of you who don’t already know what it is) and then I’m going to dive into the chemistry of how it works, what affects it has on the body and mind, and how YOU or someone you know can take advantage of CBG and use it to enhance your (or their) quality of life!

So, to start, CBG (in it’s naturally occurring acid form called CBG-A) is the primary compound present in all cannabis plants up until the last few weeks of the Flowering phase, which is also known as the last few weeks before the buds have reached maturity and are ready for harvest. CBG-A is then converted into THC, CBD, or other minor cannabinoids, most of them in their acid form. However, new varieties of industrial hemp have been developed which are intended to produce CBG almost exclusively, and the plant is harvested at the ideal time for CBG content.

Now, the CBG remains in it’s acid form (CBG-A) until the plant material goes through the process called “Decarboxylation”, also called “Decarbed” for short. When the hemp is cured and dried, some of the CBG becomes decarbed, but most will remain in the acid form until it is heated, through baking in an oven at the right temperature for the right amount of time, vaporized or smoked. I will try out CBG in it’s natural, acid form and make a separate review on it. But for this review, I’m talking about regular CBG.

Ok, so what does CBG DO? Well, first I need to ask, have you ever tried CBD before? Do you know what it feels like? If you answered yes, then try to imagine a combination of CBD and Valium, or CBD and Lavender. That is what CBG feels like in your body, but CBG simultaneously gives you a clear headed, energized mind.

If you’ve never tried CBD before and don’t know what it’s like, well then you can just think of CBD and CBG as producing a very relaxing tingly sensation on your skin, and the experience is sometimes mildly euphoric, but not always.

Now, on to discussion of what it’s good for.

Most people who use CBG consider it excellent for reducing anxiety and depression, even more effective for those health problems than CBD. In my personal experience, it offers better pain relief than CBD but less than Delta 8-THC or Kratom. I will make a video about Delta 8 soon, and I’ve already written an article about Delta 8 on my website, and I did a Kratom review video several months or more ago.

I find CBG most beneficial mid day and in the evening, but not immediately before bed. CBG can make you slightly sleepy, but for the most part it is mentally energizing until it starts wearing off. I think CBG would be great to use right before working on projects, homework, computer work, watching videos, writing, or any other activity that requires sustained focus and maintaining a calm countenance throughout.

I have also found that mixing equal parts of CBD and CBG is a wonderful combination, providing many of the same benefits of regular THC/Marijuana, while avoiding most of the negative side effects that often come from THC. Now, so this is a well balanced review, I will give some warnings, and then I’ll share some good, trustworthy sources of CBG products so that you can get some and try it for yourself.

I really don’t have that many warnings about CBG. However, since it does increase activation of the GABA receptors, it can slow breathing and should not be combined with other sedatives in most situations. CBG also increases endorphin release (though activation of the CB2 receptor) and this may cause drowsiness, so don’t take CBG before driving, operating heavy machinery, or doing any other activity which could be dangerous without proper alertness. If you choose to do so anyway, you do so at your own risk and not at my advisement. CBG may also lower blood sugar levels and may also lower blood pressure, so keep that in mind if you choose to try CBG.

Now, let’s talk about some good quality CBG products and where to purchase them.

“White Tiger” CBG Hemp Flower – 20% CBG Sativa-Leaning Hybrid from Loud House Hemp Company. Select “White Tiger @ 20% CBG” from the drop down menu.

CBG Oils

CBG oil from Flower Child CBD Company (the only full spectrum CBG oil I could find anywhere). This one, WordPress is saying has an error with trying to embed the link, so copy and paste the URL into a new tab if it does not appear as a clickable link for you, so that you won’t lose your place here on this page…. stupid WORDPRESS! If the link does work, please still right click it and select “open in new tab” so you won’t lose your place here.

“New Dawn” CBG oil from Industrial Hemp Farms. This appears to be a CBG isolate dissolved in an oil, and this will not be as effective as using Full Spectrum CBG, but it will be a pure CBG experience nonetheless.

American Shaman and Extract Labs (along with most other results I found) offer oils that have CBD & CBG combined, usually in a 1:1 ratio. This may be a nice combo but they are not CBG alone. WordPress is ALSO giving me an error message with Extract Labs’ link (which is the second one below that just says “CBG Oil”, so if that one isn’t clickable for you, copy and paste it into the URL bar in a new tab so you won’t lose your place here on this page. If the link does work, please right click it and select “Open in New Tab” so that you won’t lose your place here.

Now I need to mention one more important point before I go… DOSAGE!

In my opinion, CBG is more potent than CBD, but not everyone may agree with that. However, I think that 1 to 2 milligrams (mg) of CBG is a good starting dose for most people. If using a CBG oil, you can determine 1-2 mg by dividing the total number of milligrams of CBG in the entire bottle by how many milliliters (mL) of oil are in the bottle. This will tell you how many milligrams of CBG are in each milliliter of oil. Then, divide the number of mg’s of CBG in 1 mL of oil by 30, and that will give you a pretty close estimate of how many mg of CBG are in each drop, because most of the time, 30 drops from an eye dropper equals 1 mL of liquid.

I know that may sound like a lot of trouble to a lot of people, so to make it easier, just try 2-3 drops of your chosen CBG oil when first trying it out.

Alternatively, you can get a dry-herb vaporizer (like the Sutra Mini, which is an excellent choice) and use it to vape some CBG flower. The Sutra Mini can be found here:

https://www.sutravape.com/sutra-mini-by-sutra-vape/

Most CBG flower on the market today is between 8% to 20% CBG. I would suggest everyone who decides to Vape or Smoke CBG flower to start off with 25 mg of flower, and see if that is good or if you need more. People who currently use THC will need to use a lot more CBG to feel it’s effects compared to people who only use CBD regularly or someone who does not use any cannabinoids regularly.

If Vaping CBG flower, set the temperature on the Vaporizer to 430 F to make sure that ALL of the CBG gets vaporized out of the flower material and into your lungs. CBG’s boiling point or evaporation point is 428 F and while you can get SOME CBG at lower temperatures, most of it will not come out into the vapor until you reach at least 428 F.

Alright, that about does it for this article. I hope you’ll be intrigued by this article and give CBG a try. If you do decide to try it out, come back to this video and let me know what you thought about CBG.

Until next time,

God Bless You, and Have a Great Day!

Peace!
